Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a committed and passionate data engineer interested in the rail and Mobile e-Power business. In this challenging role, you will be responsible for exploring data sets, preparing data for model development, deploying data models to productive environments, as well as for analyzing and visualizing data based on existing models and known algorithms.Do you have the necessary skills and ambition to extend data analytics activities in traction to the next level? If so, this is your opportunity to take up a new challenge.You will be reporting to the Traction Head of Digital Solutions and be in close contact with the Head of Data and Analytics and Data Architect.The work model for the role is: #LI-HybridYou will be mainly accountable for:• Data preprocessing and data preparation including exploration of datasets• Analysis of data based on existing models and known algorithms. Implementation of new features• Responsible for data pipelines, their scheduling, execution, operation and monitoring• Visualization and dashboarding of analytics results• Supporting other departments in data engineering • Further developing tools and coding-frameworks around data engineering• Working closely with data scientists, data platform architects and domain experts
Qualifications for the role
- Master in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent
- Microsoft Certified - Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure
- Quick learner with excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills. Demonstrate ownership, self-motivation and the ability to work and learn independently.
- Relevant working experience Experience in data engineering activities and project management
- Strong experience in writing code using of Python, R or Java languages and machine learning libraries
- Familiar with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Azure cloud services and Databricks
- Sound knowledge of programming distributed systems and data pipelines in the area of big data, business intelligence and analytics
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to find the right data visualizations for conveying a clear message and experience in developing dashboards and analytics reports
- Experience using agile frameworks (preferably Scrum) and familiarity with agile development practices
- Excellent command of English and German, both written and spoken
- Desire to work within an international team environment
- Experience with Data-as-a-product and data mesh is a plus
