Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement (6 months). Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.As an intern of the Power Systems team, you will play an active role in project execution, collaborating with team members across various disciplines to ensure seamless integration of power distribution systems, with a focus on Low Voltage (LV) Power Distribution Motor Control Centers (MCCs), gaining real practical knowledge in hands on project experience.The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-HybridYou will be mainly responsible for:• Prepare and review a wide range of technical documents, including specifications, functional descriptions, single line diagrams, and wiring diagrams• Engage proactively with equipment suppliers to ensure deliveries align with project requirements• Participate in design reviews, gaining exposure to detailed technical discussions across various disciplines and learning how experts address complex aspects of the design process• Assist the Project Lead Engineer and Discipline Lead Engineer in overall project organization• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Power Systems department and project execution• Consolidate technical knowledge into our know-how database• Support the creation and updating of structured and comprehensive guidelines and processes related to specific equipment design
Qualifications for the role
- You are currently enrolled in an advanced bachelor's or master's degree program in electrical engineering
- You are collaborative, solution-focused and have strong written and spoken communication skills
- You are fluent in English, both written and spoken; any other language knowledge is an advantage
- You possess a high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and a desire to learn about new technologies, with aspiration to develop into a lead engineering role, which will include significant technical project management responsibilities
- Non-EU/non-EFTA citizens, please note that a certificate from your university, showing that an internship is a mandatory part of your studies, is required for the visa application
