Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will join the Robotic Systems Team as an experienced Robotic Systems Engineer, a role in which you will integrate our core technology and other sensors (Lidar, time-of-flight cameras) into various robotic platforms, transforming them into reliable smart robots that solve real-world tasks. You will work hands-on with the robots and help develop and extend our automated testing and verification pipeline. Furthermore, you will travel on-site to help customers integrate our product into their bespoke robotic platform. You will also be responsible for supervising and guiding interns. The work model for the role is hybrid. #LI-Hybrid This role is contributing to the Sevensense Robotics Division in Zürich. You will be mainly accountable for: • Developing system tools (e.g. system monitoring, integration), frameworks, and tests to facilitate system integration and to improve our automated tests suite (performance, fleet, endurance). •Working hands-on with robots in-house or on the field to extensively verify the functionality, robustness and performance of the system. •Taking ownership of internal technical projects or external customer-facing projects, as well as traveling on-site to customers and representing Sevensense by ABB. •Collecting and communicating findings from tests and customer deployments to the product team, helping with product improvements.
Qualifications for the role
- Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar experience with a focus on robotic systems.
- 2-3 years experience with deploying software on autonomous systems.
- Passion for robotic systems integration and working hands-on with robots.
- Proven experience with ROS, Ubuntu, Python and C++.
- Analytical and creative mindset with the ability to troubleshoot independently, solve complex problems, and implement innovative solutions.
- Team player who is excited about working in a dynamic work environment.
- Fluency in English and willingness to travel.
