Your role and responsibilities
The Control Testing and Validation Team is responsible for the quality assurance of embedded software for railway applications. We achieve this through hardware-in-the-loop real-time simulators, a test infrastructure that operates 24/7 and is accessed globally. Building on our experience from numerous customer projects, we have developed a cutting-edge simulation platform. We are committed to integrating the latest technologies to continually enhance our capabilities. We are looking for an experienced, tech-savvy Real-Time Simulation Engineer, specializing in FPGA Development and System Integration, to join our team. This role is key to advancing our real-time testing systems through innovative FPGA-based solutions.You will be mainly accountable for: • Designing, implementing, and optimizing FPGA models for real-time systems to support complex control loops and interfaces, ensuring high performance and re-liability. • Creating and integrating hardware modules from board design to system implementation to enhance our simulation platform. • Driving innovation by continuously improving development processes, including the integration of CI/CD practices and automation tools. • Ensuring system functionality and scalability by working closely with cross-functional teams to meet project requirements and deliverables.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor's, Master's degree, or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in FPGA development, including VHDL (familiarity with AMD/Xilinx System Generator is a plus).
- Expertise in MATLAB/Simulink for simulation and design of control algorithms and system models.
- Solid knowledge of board design and hardware module development, including system integration is required
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices, including test automation and continuous integration workflows.
- Experience working in Agile environments (e.g., SCRUM).
- Excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus).
